Gerard Ataogye retained as DCE for Kassena-Nankana West

The President’s nominee for Kassena-Nankana West District in the Upper East Region, Gerrard Ataogye, has been approved by members of the Assembly to retain his position as District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area.

Out of 64 Assembly Members, including government appointees, present and voting, Mr. Ataogye polled 60 votes, with 4 Assembly Members voting NO.

In a speech to accept his nomination, Mr. Ataogye expressed his commitment to continue working to ensure the development of the area.

He also appealed to members of the Assembly to flirt with unity in order to dispel the notion that Kassena-Nankana West was a violent district.

His confirmation makes him the second to have earned re-nomination by the president and subsequently confirmed by the Assembly after Agnes Namoo of Nabdam.
